This question isn't about a specific modeling technique, but rather about the interchange of different beam types when modeling screws, bolts, clips, or even edge-to-edge contact in various projects. I'm trying to categorize the different types of beams and their potential applications, but I've found the LS-DYNA handbook isn't particularly helpful in this regard.
Could you please help me find clear documentation on the different beam types? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Honestly, I’m not sure a resource like that for best practices is available. There could be a Dyna PowerPoint highlights potential use cases for the different connection types though. It would be great to compile something like this though as most of the time it’s just acquired knowledge.
Here’s two resources to give the basic overview for beams vs discrete beams. Not so much applications though.
