Hi, I am trying to solve an impact model. Due to the high velocity, I started to use the SPH model. But when the nodes reach the 230 000 I got the error on the topic. As you know between the sph particles there is no need for contact.

I'm also trying to use SPH symmetry planes. When the particles that are affected by the symmetry plane are far or near to the plane that is also creating the same error but I solve that problem.

I try to use different computers, but error contıned.

Hi @dendencel

Try to use a version of LS-Dyna with double precision instead of single. This will be denoted by a "_d_" instead of "_s_" in the solver version. A lot of times this error occurs in implicit simulations when using single precision. Here's an overview on what exactly double precision is. You will see around a 30% increase in computation time though when using double.

@negativevolume thank you very much how can I change this value?

@dendencel It's not a change in a value but a change in the file that LS-Dyna is using as the solver. If you are using LS-Dyna on a local computer, you can change this in the top Solver tab -> Select LS-Dyna Solver.

Dear @negativevolume, I had changed the solver but I am still having the same error. Unfortunately, I started to get errors from the models that were working fine.

@dendencel Just to make sure that it isn't a version error, could you try LS-Dyna version 10.2 with double precision?

@negativevolume I don't have a different version on my computer, but when I solve them on my supervisor's computer there is no error. However the confusing thing is this, when ı reduce the sph particles it is starting to work. And I got results like 18mm, but the results from my supervisor's computers like 6mm. same k file different results.

Can I send you the k. files? (one is working other is not working on my computer.)
