Hi, I am doing car crash simulation of the concrete barrier provided by NCAC, in their model they use the Rigid mat to define the material of the concrete barrier. But the rigid mat does not show any stress, strain whatsoever, from what I read in the Keyword User manual Volume 1, there's a switch to change the material from Rigid to Deformable called *RIGID_DEFORMABLE_R2D. I want to set this up on the restart file but IDK how to do it so if there's a way of doing it I would really want to know how. Below is the files of the concrete barrier.

 If there's a way of changing the mat card from rigid to any concrete material card I would want to know how to set it up without error too. Thanks for reading this.

Hi @yoshimori3456

I believe you mean *Deformable_to_Rigid, not rigid to deformable. It's a simple way of making a part rigid without changing the materials etc. But I don't see it in the file you attached. It just shows the concrete wall defined with a rigid material. If the deformable concrete material isn't defined in the model, then there's no way of finding that information.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply, so after some digging, I found out that the rigid card does not deform whatsoever, so I tried to set the concrete wall material to Concrete_Damage_Rel3 but it shows the error

 Here is the file that I use, I would love to know how to solve this problem, thank you so much.

@yoshimori3456 :

Here , the error is specific on *MAT_72 . i had look into the file you had shared . the material data is not complete. That's the reason the error is propping up.

Please check your material data, especially for *MAT_72

@yoshimori3456 yeah, that warning is also because you can't have 2 rigid constraints on the same node. It looked like both the shell parts and solid parts of the barrier were both rigid.

You said this barrier file was provided to you? Would it run okay as it was when you received it?
