I imagine over time ANSYS will try to nudge users to start using WorkBench. However, if they try to force the issue when the user interface hasn't caught up to LSPP, they will lose LS-DYNA customers.
There are a few decent reasons to use WorkBench - Leveraging the strong CAD engine to parametrize geometries or archiving an entire workflow (from geometry to stochastic analyses to reports) come to mind as a couple of examples. That said, in my opinion, it is an overly bloated interface that eats up ludicrous amounts of space. To be fair, I am not a regular WorkBench user and I simply find ways to avoid using it 😀
