I have a working model of a sphere hitting a box and bouncing off that used tons and mm for units.  I recreated the same model using SI units, but now the sphere passes through the box. Why would this conversion affect the contact? How can I fix it?

hi ,

just by changing the units , there should be no change in the contact behaviour. check for Master and Slave definition.

Also try to use MORTAR contact. it has got better algorithm implemented to over come contact instability
