Hi,

I have run the same input file in two different version of LS-Dyna (MPP and SMP). In particular, I am interested in analyzing contacts in my model, in which a initial penetration between some parts is present. I did this because I need to obtain an initial state of prestress at time equal to 0. Using the two different method and using intfor to visualize the results, I obtained values totally different; in particular (using MPP) the initial prestress state is almost not-present. How can I handle with this?

Thank you,

GC

Here is a comparison between SMP and MPP.

Do you want initial penetrations in your model? If you are trying to use MPP but are not getting appropriate prestress from initial penetrations, you could remove the initial penetrations before simulating.

With that said, there are many options in LS-Dyna that could affect this output (ie *Control_contact).
