but how do i know if the thickness is going outwards or inwards?
In the section card there is a parameter NLOC, which sets the thickness direction. 0 is both directions, so 0.6mm in and out. This is the preferred method for thickness in most cases, which is why I was suggesting to physically offset the mesh to the center of the geometry and use 0 here.
since i want side of my square to be 38mm. what i did was 38-1.2=36.8mm. Then 36.8/2 = 18.4mm. so this is how i define the x y for my square as shown on image attached below. so therefore when i add the thickness it will be side 38mm, and thickness 1.2mm. right? sorry if this is confusing im just tryna clarify. its like 1 am here huhu sorry
Shape meager is going to mesh a shape from scratch, not from an iges file like you mentioned wanting to do. And you said you wanted to create a hexagonal tube right? What you are showing is a rectangular tube
oh thats just an example. i used shape mesher and box shell to make that. am i on the right path? sorry to confuse you
