I'm struggling to understand which ls-dyna material models I should be using for certain objects. Are there any resources or guidelines that I can use to guide me on which type of material law to use for certain materials like rubbers, plastics, or metal? I understand that some materials can be applied to multiple things like Mat_Elastic and Mat_Hyperelastic, but it would be helpful to know the full range of material models that can be used for specific applications... Any help will be appreciated!
This is a great question and one of the most difficult parts of modeling. One good resource that I recently discovered is a page on LSTC's website where you can pick families of real world materials and even element types and it will show which material models are recommended:
Let me know if this helps.
