hello,

I am working on a simular. However, I need to some back calculation in excel to apply the hydrodynamic load. is there a way in LS-DYNA to calculate the coordinates of all the nodes in a node set as well as the tributary area for each node assigned to the node set? Thanks in Advance

Are you wanting to get the coordinates initially, or throughout the simulation?

If it's initially, then you can make a node set, then go to Model -> Display -> Set -> Node and display the set. Then go to Model -> Select Part and click off of all the left side check boxes to ensure that everything is deselected, but the node set will still be active. Now you can go to File -> Save Active Keyword As -> Advanced and only select the box next to Node. This will save out all of the nodes for that node set and the corresponding coordinates.

If you want to do this for each time step throughout your simulation, it's going to get a lot more complicated.
