Hi All,

I was wondering if there is a way to get a rigid part to be constrained by the RIGIDWALL_PLANAR card? Currently I am using the RIGIDWALL_PLANAR card to define hard boundaries for other parts of the model but doing so results int he RIGID parts falling through the domain.

Cheer!

Hi,

I think RIGID_PLANAR card should work with rigid bodies as well. If you are having problems, try adding the node set ID of the rigid part specifically.

If it still does not work, I think you would have defined a boundary condition for the motion of the rigid body. In that case, the contact does not work and the rigid body still passes through the wall. I hope this helps.

What ended up working was setting in the CONTROL_CONTACT card RWPNAL = 1.0, this only works if the RIGID_WALL_PLANAR card is fixed in space.
