I would like to model a bird strike on a flat plate oriented parallel to the bird trajectory. Imagine like throwing a chicken against the knife edge, its should split in half. I tried modelling with eroding nodes to surface contact type but hardly any SPH particles getting deviated when it passes the plate. Attached is the LSDyna model picture showing the bird as SPH particle and the parallel oriented green plate. Which contact should I use for the case? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Eroding contact should work fine , check the parameters in the contact card.
