Hi all, could you tell me how to determine the mass scaling results. Are there any indicators like kinetic energy, added mass etc. that can be used for determining whether the results are correct or not?

Thanks.

Hi @csuznxg

Most of the time there are thresholds for percent mass increase depending on your application. A general rule for LS-Dyna that I have used is to keep added mass below 5% mass added.

hi in GLSTAT : 16 ,17 , 18 option helps you to judge the mass added on the system and its effect

16 : step size : this is should help you understand the analysis behavior after mass scaling

17 : added mass : care should be taken , depends on application of analysis.

18: % increase in mass : <5% is better for automotive and <1% for aero application
