Hello,

I am trying to calculate section forces in Ls-prepost of a part consisted of shell elements.

I get this warning; Warning: No shell thickness in database

I think ls cannot read shell thickness.

Thank you.

Hi @emirhan-dyna

Do you have a thickness defined in the t1, t2, t3, t4 fields of the *Section_Shell card for that part?

@negativevolume Hi thanks for your reply. Yes it is defined. Indeed the analysis terminates without error. Then I open d3plot in ls prepost and use section plane to create a section for force calculation. This command calculates section forces for solid elements but for shell element consisting parts, I get this error "Warning: No shell thickness in database"

@emirhan-dyna the section plane needs to be defined in the model before you run the simulation in order for it to work. Is this the case for your model? Or are you creating it after the fact? I think that’s your problem.
