Modelling the Microstructure of Steel

Hello forum members!

Im new here and i am trying to model as the title suggest, but i am very new to ls dyna and i cannot find tutorials on how to change the angle of the layering elements as shown in the figure (a) to (b), (c) and (d) any thoughts on how to do it?

Hi @mxngsy

Have you been able to model option a within LS-Dyna yet? If you are new to the software, I would suggest trying to accomplish that before looking into altering the layering angle. You also might want to look into the different ways that you can accomplish this in LS-Dyna.

I'm linking a composite modeling .pdf which might be useful for your understanding. It is through the company Oasys so the architecture of the preprocessor will be shown through Primer not LS-Prepost, just FYI. But I think this image might help you understand how you can potentially model this without stacking elements as you mentioned.
