[Solved] Shell thickness output problem

I'm running crash simulations of vehicles against rigid elements (walls or other buildings modeled with shells and MAT_RIGID). Contacts between vehicle and shells are set with *CONTACT_AUTOMATIC_SURFACE_TO_SURFACE_MPP_ID with a friction of 0.6. The model run correctly but the graphic output has always an "invisible offset" between the shell surface and the vehcile (see image). This offset seems to be independent to the SECTION_SHELL thickness.

Anyone has a hint on how to solve this, i.e. to delete this offset?

Hi @filippo555, you probably have a thickness defined in your *contact as SST or MST. Or you have the parameter SHLTHK in *Control_Contact set to 1 which excluded rigid body shell thickness from your contact definition.

Yes! SHLTHK was set to 2 but the SST and MST were set to 60.0. Ii set them to 0.0 and now the problem is solved.

Thanks a lot!
