Hey guys I’m looking to evaluate the different tools for fea analysis. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on radios vs ls dyna vs other competitor solutions. what are the pros and cons of each / which is chea?
thanks
for explicit analysis : Lsdyna is far better than any other software . Its ease of building any model and robustness is expectational, Material library is extensive .
I know a few people who use Radioss. I believe it is on par with LS-Dyna and Pam-crash (VPS) for explicit analysis. Abaqus would be another option that is a little more user friendly as well.
But yes LS-Dyna arguably has the most potential within modeling techniques, materials, contacts etc. But LS-Dyna can also be fairly unstable in certain cases and not thoroughly documented material models and other things like that.
I believe LS-Dyna is the cheapest option currently but it was just acquired by ANSYS so that may change.
