Hello Everyone,

I actually want to import the IGES file generated by GiD software in Hypermesh. While importing the IGES file, there are a lot of free edges (red lines) created that should actually be non-manifold (yellow lines). I have to toggle those free edges individually which is very time-consuming.

Is there any way to get the minimum free edges so that I could save my time? I am actually working on my final thesis work and need urgent help.
I have attached the IGES file of the geometry.

I'm going to bump this because I've always wondered if there is a better way to do this as well. Anyone know?

@negativevolume We have been working on algorithms for fully automatic correction of IGES files to make them suitable for consequent finite element mesh generation. You are welcome to visit and see what we've achieved (just some examples):

IGES-2-SUR Processing and conversion of IGES data files for the purposes of quadrilateral finite element mesh generation. (awardspace.biz)
