Hello,
I am working with LS DYNASR 11.1.2 SMP and LS PrePost V 2026 R1-4.13
I am trying to solve a classic cooldown problem of a 3-layer system, where I want to study the evolving stresses. I want to achieve this by decoupling the thermal and structural problems to reduce run-time. I successfully created a thermal problem, and got d3dump and d3plot files that enlist temperature as a function of time for all my nodes.
Now I want to run a structural only analysis by importing the results of my thermal run (explicit analysis). ChatGPT suggested that I then use teh same mesh, remove thermal loads, add CTE for materials and create an implicit model. It also said to manually add *RESTART command and load the d3dump file from my thermal analysis.
Unfortunately, even if I use restart command, I am unable to get the results. My model runs, and creates d3plots and d3dump files starting from index 02. And LS PrePost crashes saying the file is incompatible.
Can someone comment if this is the only way to decouple the thermal and structural analysis? Are there any better alternate ways?
Will appreciate any feedback or instructions on formatting the restart command. I have to manually add in the keyword file, and the expression in LS run.
