Excessive distortion in shell elements leading to error termination in impact simulation

Good to hear that you got your simulation working. Another thing to keep in mind: try to prevent using multiple element types in a single part (example: trias and quads). Or if you do, make sure that you have a *Control_shell and that ESORT=1. This will automatically sort your tria elements to ELFORM 4: C0 triangular shell.

The part is given a element formulation (ELFORM) and triangular elements need specific ELFORMs. So if you don't have this flag active you will get issues with your simulation. Just an FYI thing I guess.
