Hello everyone, in Ls-dyna I am trying tensile test with Mat_15_Johnson Cook material model. I could observed failure state at middle of the gage length with this material model. When I tried Barlat_YLD_2000 and Mat_add_erosion card to observe failure, I defined Gissmo damage model and triaxiality-strain curve on Mat_add_erosion card. However, I couldn't see failure on mid of gage length. The failure occurred at end of the gage length. In mat_erosion card, what else should I define ? Thanks, have a good day!

Hi @muge

Ha that's quite the broad question since *Mat_add_erosion has many different parameters that you can use. What are you currently using to define failure? I mostly have seen max principal strain used to define failure thresholds using this.

Also, remember that different material models will not always yield similar results. It could be that the material + erosion just won't show failure mid-shaft. Just wanted to throw that out there.
