Hi, when I using LSPP to check my model, some errors show that element volume is negative. Why did this happen? I built an annulus model by shell element spinning. Could some tell me how to improve it?

Thanks

Hi @csuznxg

When you say negative volume, you are talking about prior to simulation correct? What type of element is it that you are measuring and when looking at it does it appear distorted at all?

Yes, I checked it before the simulation running. I checked those elements marked with negative volume, and they don't appear any distortion.

I detached all the elements and nodes, then merging all the duplicated nodes. This issue is addressed.

weird that detaching and re-merging the nodes worked. There may have been some small elements or something going on. What program did you use to mesh it?

Prepost can be finicky, especially between the different versions. So it’s smart to check quality prior to running sims.
