Hi,

How can I analyze a quasi-static problem with explicit method? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @mahmoud,

Any reason why you don’t want to use implicit? That’s the only way if you want true quasi-static over a reasonable amount of time.

Not sure explicit will work too well for simulations over a couple seconds long.

@negativevolume the only reason is to save analysis time.

@mahmoud why would explicit be any faster than implicit?

@mahmoud Explicit usually takes longer (in terms of wall clock time) unless you are solving an extremely nonlinear problem (car crash is an obvious example), in which case, implicit may not even run to completion.
