Hi,

I am working on a crash simulation of lightweight steels as a closed hat profile, after certain foldings the profile is bending. What could be the reasons for that. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have used MAT 24 with GISSMO damage model

@harsha77 Assuming I'm too late but for anyone who may also have this issue: If your material model itself is correct and you are seeing bending where you would not expect, then it is probably a *Section issue. Either the element formulation (ELFORM) is not defined correctly to resist bending moments or your thicknesses could be too small.
