Hi @jiiuhuii, Have you tried adjusting the number of cells? I know variation in mesh density is a common culprit for convergence failure.
I can say that generally errors like this indicate something is wrong with a constraint, to the point where Dyna is just endlessly trying to solve it....
Hi @delron, I'm not familiar with SPR3. Is this in reference to *Constrained_interpolation_spotweld (SPR3) or *Mat_constrained_SPR3?
@joneseffect Nailed it. I know this is old but for archiving: One last important *DATABASE card is *DATABASE_EXTENT_BINARY, specifically STRFLG. Thi...
@mmia1 I suggest reading through the link below and the section in the manual that goes over *Element_beam and when you need to define a N3 orientatio...
@mmia1 yes it’s 100% okay and probably the recommended way to model something like this. Beam elements can be used to define structures of all shapes,...
@mmia1 I see. Have you attempted to model the same shape with standard beam elements instead of the specific *element_beam_elbow? Could just be a prob...
Sorry, I know this was posted a while ago. In order to create a disconnected mesh with overlapping nodes, you just need to take the mesh you want to "...
@mmia1 when you say your results are x10 expected, which part are you referring to? And how are you sure of the expected stress? Did you do a hand cal...
@geardyn-1 yeah, I'm not sure how well Dyna can simulate something like wear. Have you read this? It might be something more suited for Abaqus?
@yoshimori3456 yeah, that warning is also because you can't have 2 rigid constraints on the same node. It looked like both the shell parts and solid p...
Hi @yoshimori3456, I believe you mean *Deformable_to_Rigid, not rigid to deformable. It's a simple way of making a part rigid without changing the ...
Here's the R13 release notes: "Added option to specify the energy release rates for modes I and II (GIC and GIIC) in *MAT_138 as element size dep...
Hi @justuslo, For this contact, only the SSID can be a node set, the MSID needs to be defined with a segment set, part set, part id, or shell eleme...
Hey @geardyn-1, Sorry I've been afk for a bit. I know everyone has been appreciative of your replies. Anyways, curious if you solved this issue ...
